Over the course a two months, a small team and I rewrote the entire Kiip homepage. It was the first rewrite in over two years. This process involved the initial direction, writing, editing, rewriting and eventual deploy of the new pages. What you see are a few pieces of the end result. Much of what was born from this project is still live on www.kiip.me.
For the past four years, I've had my hands in a number of email marketing campaigns. Whether for blissmo flash sale campaigns or most recently Kiip developer and brand emails, I have written, designed and scheduled ongoing marketing messages to meet various goals.
Mobile Gaming Championship
2013 was a huge year for mobile gaming at Kiip. A small team of us pulled of an event that reached more than 50,000 people. The event? The first ever Mobile Gaming Championship. The event was sponsored by Guinness World Records and we were able to award four records!
Working with project lead Ryan Lessard (@ryanlessard), I helped advise the scope of the project. Additionally, I contributed words for email campaigns, player interviews, blog posts and ad campaigns that ran on the Kiip network.
This event lasted five events over the course of three months. We streamed the final round on twitch.tv, an amazing but difficult process at the time since mobile streaming had limited tools.
Working for the mobile SDK company, Kiip, I had the responsibility to write, edit and maintain the documentation for docs.kiip.me.
Blissmo Flash Sales
Blissmo began as a daily deals website, focused on eco-friendly goods. When I joined, my role was to produce the images for each deal. That role grew into writing, designing and scheduling email campaigns for every flash sale.
Blissmobox Print Design
Two years into Blissmo's life, a new product was added. The Blissmobox is a monthly subscription box that includes several eco-friendly goods that fit a theme. For this product, I was responsible for writing, laying out and printing thousands of box inserts. The insert was a print material that informed subscribers of the box contents.
Working for both Blissmo and Kiip, my role included all facets of community management. This included being the first line of response for the support queue, sales leads, responding to tweets and posts, and generating content to share.
I've found that working in community and support is a great way to understand the many facets of any business.
During college, I interned for GamesRadar.com and did some freelance for them as well. In addition, I was published in PlayStation the Official Magazine and GamePro.
A project for a typography class, I decided to construct a tribute to one of my favorite directors: Quentin Tarantino. This involved the concept, layout, designing and printing of a postcard set.
Blink was an opportunity to combine everything I enjoyed working on: writing, design and photography. Another college project, I lead a team of four to draft eight fiction stories for this book. My responsibilities included collecting stories, editing, icon design, layout and binding. The icon on the cover was made creating a stamp and ink.
